Major Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty projectiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Local officials said the urban area experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor was killed and three other people were hurt.

The attacks succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
